Crank up your funk spindle
Look out - I've made something new. Although, for the first time, it wasn't my idea.
Here it is: PULL SHAPES
It's a series of amusing photos from the 2006 World Cup, cleverly set to "Pull Shapes" by the Pipettes.
It was conceived by Stuart Campbell*, who timed it all up in a post on his forum. Using my amazing skills of bandwagon-jumping and plagiarism, I decided to put an animated version together.
You see, whilst I have no interest in football whatsoever, I can't resist funny pictures and a great tune. And dang if this wasn't too great an idea to pass up. I particularly like the way it covers the whole tournament, unlike the tediously England-obsessed coverage we get locally. Being written by a Scotsman probably helped that.
So hats off to Rev. Campbell, and a cheery wave to the World of Stuart forum goers who provided feedback on early versions.
*UK readers may remember Stuart Campbell as one of the driving forces (and sometime acting editor of) Amiga Power, a computer games magazine which actually reviewed games properly. His refusal to artificially inflate review scores to appease advertisers has made him virtually unemployable as a games reviewer. Well, that and the people controlling the video games magazine industry hate his guts.
